Berlin is now firmly re-established as the capital city of Germany. It is unusual in having three major opera houses, so even a short trip can provide a very wide choice of opera repertoire. The Latvian National Opera is the cultural heart of Riga and has produced world class opera & ballet performances since the 18th century.
