foot and by bus.
A tour where Reykjavik's renowned charm and bustling life is
brought to light. Reykjavik offers most of what other cities
have–perhaps on a smaller scale, but certainly not less
interesting. Reykjavik is a modern capital with a standard of
living second to none.

the capital Trip difficulty is 2 out of 5 possible
From Hlemmur, at the Southern end of the main shopping street,
Laugarvegur, we catch a ride with the local bus to Vatnsendi by
the Elliðavatn Lake on the outskirts of Reykjavik. Travelling
through the area gives an interesting insight into the fast
transformation of rural Iceland into urbanic Reykjavik.
We ride along the Elliðaá river, the only inner city salmon
fishing river in the world and the host of Iceland's first
hydroelectric power plant. Continuing to the Öskjuhlíð area we
visit the Pearl, a UFO looking glass dome, viewing the capital
and its surroundings through binoculars on the balcony. After
enjoying the spectacular view of the Capital area we ride down
to the seaside and cycle along the shore visiting the lighthouse
at Grótta beach. Our trip ends downtown Reykjavík in an explorers
favourite bar & grill. Your first beer is complimentary.
