Encounter a
cross-section of Iceland’s natural wonders, geology and history,
making numerous stops along the way.
First stop is at the world-famous Geyser area, a geothermal
field where hot springs are in abundance, geysers explode and
pools of mud bubble. Spend some time walking around in this area
and visit the Geyser museum that is included as a main feature
of this area. This is an informative multimedia exhibition that
vividly shows how the forces of nature shaped the country and
the people. One of many highlights of the tour is the volcanic
crater, Kerið, and another is the Gullfoss waterfall, the queen
of Iceland's waterfalls, tumbling down a deep gorge. Finally,
but no less spectacular is a visit to the Þingvellir National
Park, the very place where the first settlers held their annual
parliamentary assembly and where the earth is ever so slowly
pulling Iceland apart along tectonic plates.

For one
afternoon, spend the time encountering a cross-section of
Iceland’s natural wonders and geological phenomena. This is a
shorter version of the classical Golden Circle tour, visiting
the Geyser area and the Gullfoss waterfall.
The world-famous Geyser geothermal field is highlighted on this
tour, where spouting springs of various formations and
appearances are seen. Spend some time walking around in this
area, feeling the power of the hot springs and geysers. Another
highlight of this tour is Kerið, an enormous volcanic crater
filled with water.
Next stop is at the truly amazing sight, Gullfoss, the queen of
Icelandic waterfalls. Passangers are given the opportunity to
stand next to it, watching as enormous quantities of water
tumble violently into a deep, meandering gorge.

This tour is
ideal for nature lovers and bird enthusiasts of all kinds.
South Iceland is a lowland region of lush farmland, striking
waterfalls, sandy coastline, glaciers and quaint towns and
villages. It is also an area of historical significance. Here
the famous Icelandic Saga of Njáll occurred. This tour will go
through areas where events changed the course of Icelandic
history.
Visitors have an opportunity to stand behind a plummeting
waterfall, gaze at natural rock formations and feel the amazing
power of a glacier. The tour will make a stop at the
Sólheimajökull Glacier edge if road conditions allow (only in
summertime). Around lunchtime, the tour will stop at the village
Vík, which is surrounded by beautiful and impressive high
bird-cliffs. Here passangers have the possibility to see the
bird-life from a close range and to walk along the unique black
sands of the Icelandic coastline.

This is a
magnificent tour over the Tindfjallajökull and Eyjafjallajökull
glaciers. Between the ice and snowfields we visit Hekla, the
most famous of Iceland's volcanoes, which last erupted in 2000.
On Heimaey Island in the Westmann Islands there's still clear
evidence of the famous destruction to the island and its town
caused by an eruption in 1973. A new island, Surtsey rose out of
the sea a little further to the south in an eruption that
started in 1963.
Other places of interest on route include Thingvellir, site of
the world's oldest parliament, the Gullfoss golden waterfall,
and Geyser – one of the world's outstanding geothermal areas and
the origin of the English word "geyser".
