Our Opinion: "St.Petersburg stag weekends are definitely
for the PLAYA's. It is an expensive city and with VISA admin and
costs you ahve to be fully committed. Definitely an exciting and
mysterious city and worth trying if you have the money and backing
of the entire stag group!"
| The best bars and nightclubs in Saint Petersburg |
From our numerous trips and adventures in St.Petersburg, we have
noted some of the best places to try. In this section, you’ll find a
comprehensive list of all the exciting establishments in St.
Petersburg. We have reviewed a wide cross section of venues, for all
types of people travelling to Saint Petersburg. This amazing city
really does have something to suit all tastes, from chic-yuppie
bars, down to earth pubs, cheesy stag weekend clubs, high rolling
casinos and cutting edge clubs.
Large entertainment venues are very popular, one we’d recommend is
Aquatoria, a very fashionable place that attracts a young, good
looking clientele. Inside this complex you’ll find; bowling allies,
a casino, six bars and many dancefloors. For diversity Aquatoria is
a great choice, perfect for stag weekends, corporate groups and
discerning travelers. Open five nights a week on the Nevsky Prospekt,
is one of the cities most popular complexes called Hollywood Nites.
The atmosphere is always lively, being situated in a prime location.
The music is a blend of western pop, euro hits and house music,
catering for a more commercial crowd. Hollywood Nites is a
club-restaurant-bar, so a whole evening could be spent here.

The wealthy expats and Russian millionaires come to Taleon Club,
offering multi styled rooms of taste and sophistication. There is a
refined restaurant, elegant bars and a regal casino, all under one
roof. We advise our clients to dress immaculately to gain access
into this luxury club. Once inside you’ll be rubbing shoulders with
social elites, rich & famous stars and politically important people.
For something completely opposite to Taleon Club, then try Griboedov,
located in an undergound bomb shelter. This unpretenious club is a
very happening place in the clubbing scene, offering alternative
music like; breaks, RnB and progressive house. The partys are wild,
all types of people end up in this intimate night club, from guys on
stag nights, expats and funky Russian locals. This place is
definitely worth a look, whilst on a St Petersburg short weekend
break holiday.
La Plage occupies two stories, with dance halls, restaurants,
bars and erotic topless shows. A striking atmosphere of freedom,
exotics and summer makes the La Plage one of the most popular clubs.
Standart is a big entertainment venue and is the largest billiards
centre in Europe. Inside Standart, you’ll find a mini cinema, places
to eat, gaming facilities and rooms to drink and dance. Plaza is a
busy disco & casino, somewhere you’ll always find trendy Russians
dancing & having a great time. Its open 24 hrs, so for anybody
searching for a late night or early morning drink, you will find it
here. We regard it as one of the best clubs for St Petersburg
breaks, with cool interiors, varied room spaces and has its own
restaurant & casino.
Jazz Philharmony is the place of jazz legends and has been
running since 1989, founded by David Goloschokin, an outstanding
jazz musician and composer. Since the first days of its existence
Jazz Philharmonic Hall has attracted international talent to its
stages and has captivated audiences every night. For more
experimental and progressive Jazz sounds, try the JFC club and
another favourite is the jazz Time bar. Although not jazz, Moloko is
a premier venue for live rock & indie. Moloko has a massive
following, normally packed with students, stag weekend drunks and
wild rockers. It’s the best rock club to find in the city and you’ll
enjoy the cheap booze and crazy atmosphere. The interior of the club
is minimalist as the emphasis is all on the music and having a good
time. Saint-Petersburg has a great reputation for live music
especially for rock and jazz enthusiasts. The Red club attracts the
best local rock bands and good international alternative acts. It’s
a civilized and comfortable venue and will be enjoyed by live music
fans.

We can recommend quite a few pubs to try a pint. Leo's is a
spacious pub, with a wide range of beers and spirits and you can’t
miss this place, just look for the authentic red British telephone
box at the entrance. There are plenty of Irish bars & pubs within
the city. Located just off Nevsky, is Mollies Irish pub and opposite
the Mariinsky Theatre is Shamrock. Both pubs have excellent live
music, serve quality pub food and offer a wide selection of beers.
Also, by the Kazan Cathedral is the Office pub, that serves the
usual Guinnes, bitters and lager.
Club Metro is frequented mostly by people between 18 and 35 years
old and is one of the major hotspots for clubbing. Each of the three
floors plays different music and in one of the bars is karaoke,
where you can choose from over a 1000 songs. The atmosphere of the
Metro is very warm & friendly and safety of the visitors is
guaranteed by qualified administrators. The interior is stylish and
there are many comfortable places to chill and talk. Metro is a
definitely a clubbers dream, a chic club with a well dressed crowd.
We’d definitely recommend an evening at Metro, to have a good
clubbing experience during holiday break in St Petersburg.
The Magrib Club, designed in the Moroccan style, is located on
Nevsky Prospect. The Magrib gives an impression not of a nightclub,
but of a sheikh palace. The interior, soft lights and stirring
erotic show affect the guests the way that they want to return to
the club over and over again. Especially popular is a strip-show
performed by girls dressed like sheikh's concubines. Every night the
Magrib Club welcomes those who like dancing, punters will here a mix
of beats from; Latin & Russian pop to RnB and western pop. Luna club
features ‘the strip ballet’, which consists of four shows a night,
of elaborate, sensual eroticism, expressed through intricate dance
routines. The shows are extremely artistic and creative, captivating
and drawing the audience in, as the dancers play out their roles
softly caressing one another with their movements sometimes shrouded
by a thin mist. This is highly entertaining and tasteful, offering
another unique experience whilst on a city break in St. Petersburg.
If you’re already missing England, then visit the Red Lion. It’s the
closest thing to a British pub in the city. There’s live music and a
good menu, with a shepherd's pie as authentic as you could hope to
find outside the United Kingdom. Its open 24 hours and the plazma
screen TVs attract sport fans looking to catch the big game. The Red
Lion tends to attract an expat crowd aswell as stag nights, but the
atmosphere is always welcoming. A very popular watering hole is City
bar, just a few minutes walk from the Hermitage and is one of the
city's few true expat hangouts. This American-owned bar-restaurant
draws a lively bunch of mostly foreign students, stag pissups and
long-term expats who can't seem to leave the city. The Jolly Rodger
pirate-themed pub ‘Vesoly Rodzher’ runs 24hrs and is fun place to
come for cheap food and beer. It can get full of people on Eastern
europe sports tours, but that only tends to be much later on in the
night.
Another popular haven for young expats is a bar called Cynic. Just
off St. Isaac's Square, this three room basement bar offers musical
space for some of the city's best underground musicians. The
atmosphere is great and people often dance on the tables. A cheap
club that consists of a beer hall, pool room and a disco is
Ultimatum. It’s a bit of student dive and is open 24 hours a day. We
wouldn’t recommend this to discerning travelers, but ok for stag
night type do’s etc . Other popular lads activity weekend venues are
the Football bar, for die hard fans that can’t miss the big game and
the Beerhouse Prohodimez, which serves food and drink till 5am.
Popular gentlemen & lap dancing clubs are: Golden Dolls, Amsterdam,
Gotika and Maximus.
Gambling is very popular in St.Petersburg and there is a whole range
of quality Casino’s to try your luck in. Conti casino is one of the
most famous casinos in St. Petersburg and is one of the most
prestigious rest and entertainment places among it's citizens. In
the historical centre is Hollywood nites a luxurious casino with a
good atmosphere. If your not a high roller or don’t want to gamble,
then the Astoria is a good mid-range casino. The Astoria has its own
nightclub which hosts nightly cabaret and strip shows. Vegas is a
relatively new casino in town and is already attracting a large
crowd of both locals and visitors. Not only is it an attractive
two-story casino, but it also doubles as a large sports bar, with
big screens showing all the big games, from: baseball, basketball,
football etc. It's a short walk from Nevsky prospekt and is open 24
hours. Another high class casino is the Olympia, which offers the
usual gambling games and slot machines all set in a well decorated
environment. The interior is very stylish, the staff are
professional and is a great establishment for a few hours of fun
entertainment.

it had to come to an end, but least my health will begin to recover.
Once again, excellent stag night organization, if I hear about
