Our Opinion: "Prague is the grand daddy of Eastern
European stag do destinations but it is for a reason: it is
fantastic. Prague is one of the most stunning cities in Europe, it
is still reasonably priced and the nightlife is second to none. If
you have not been on a Prague stag do before then it is a must! If
you have been already then you know what we are talking about and
you will probably be happy to go back again, and again and again....

Prague Nightlife guide for the best Prague Stag do's: Alcohol bar in the old Town serves 400 delicious cocktails and
has live music most nights of the week, either from local DJs or
talented musicians. Another stylish cocktial bar is Aloha wave
lounge, where the interior reflects a 60s south pacific Hawaiin
theme. Near the old town square is the Bombay cocktail bar and is a
very popular place, amongst international guest & locals alike. They
have a no Stag party policy, so if you’re a rugby team dressed in
school girl outfits, we suggest you try somewhere else. Hapu,
Bugsy's or Barock are also good choices for fine cocktails and cool
vibes, excellent for discerning travelers that want to avoid the
stag night type of atmosphere.

The Smichov area has some worthy bars to check out on your Czech
Reupblic city break. First to mention is Back door, a
bar-club-restaurant. The music changes throughout the week, but is
usually good and not to cheesy. Popular amongst students is Klub 007
Strahov and is a haven for alternative music lovers. Here you’ll
find a whole host of music being represented, spanning; reggae,
punk, hardcore, dnb, hiphop, soul and rockabilly new wave. It’s a
great venue, with a positive crowd, friendly locals and few stag
nights find this place. If you’re not a fan of the large
entertainment style clubs and want a more intimate party atmosphere,
then rock down to ‘Double Trouble’ a smallish gothic cellar bar. It
closes 5am on the weekends, so it could be a good option for those
on a big weekends Prague party session. In the New town is Solid
Uncertainty bar and is open till 6am. The Dj plays a great selection
of chart and modern music and the crowd is a mixture of young
professionals, foreign city breakers and the occasional football
team on tour. U Vejvodu Pub is popular for its cheap beer and the
abundance of tables to sit and chat. It’s a traditional style
drinking hole, great to get a few pints down and prepare for a fun
night out on the town.
Caffrey's Irish Bar is located in the Old Town square and has a good
reputation for quality beer, food and friendly service. Molly
Malone's is another Irish pub worth a mention in Prague, as it’s
managed to maintain a solid consistency of well served drinks in a
warm atmosphere. Popular amongst the lads weekends crowd is the
Zlaty Strom Bar & Club. Found beneath a hotel in the old town, this
bar regularly has topless dancing and strip shows, to the pleasure
of many foreign men and they serve up over 200 various cocktails. If
you’re roaming around in a large group, like the many Prague sports
club tours usually are, try the Little Goat pub in the Old Town. The
pub has an excellent selection of wines, beers and spirits and the
food they serve up is very good too. Also, try U Fleku
pub-restaurant-brewery in the centre. It’s got a massive beer hall,
serves traditional Czech dishes and obviously has copious amounts of
specially brewed beer. Legends sports bar, is the place to come if
you want to catch that big sports event. There are over 14 TV
screens and plenty of places to park yourselves to watch the game
comfortably. Like most sports bars, the place is normally filled
with men, expats and stagweekends. If you’re in the in Mala Strana
district, then check out the Blue Light, an intimate bar with a cool
interior & clientele. The atmosphere is very socialable, they play
quality music from Al Green to Basement Jaxx and serve up a nice
selection of cocktails. Excellent for those on a short break holiday
and want a find a bar with a relaxed outlook.

The capital has a massive selection of nightclubs of all shapes &
sizes, catering for all types of music lovers. There are large meat
market discos for a stag weekend in Prague, underground cavern
clubs, rock venues and some of the trendiest clubs in Eastern
Europe. To hear world renowned DJs and rub shoulders with some of
the most beautiful clubbers in Eastern Europe, then shuffle your
dancing shoes onto Mecca. The music is pumping the crowd are fun ‘n’
sophisticated and the promoters at Mecca are one of the best in the
Czech Republic. New innovative parties are thrown each night,
varying the theme and music policies, which keep this club on a
knifes edge. Not only is there a nightclub, but there is a chic
restaurant & café on the premises, which have an equally matched
reputation in style & quality. Mecca is definitely a highlight in
Prague’s nightlife and if you’re on a short city break, then your
nights won’t be wasted here. Radost FX is for the more glamorous
clubber that likes to make shapes and stack shelves to current house
music. The UK headlining DJs usually attract the local expat rabble
and a more foreign crowd, rather than Czech locals. We advise lad
partys to make advance guest list reservations to avoid being turned
away.
Just around the corner from the massive TV Tower in the Zizkov
district is the multi functioning venue, Akropolis. Within this
amazing complex, there is a huge 850 capacity arena used for theatre
and music gigs, restaurants & cafes, a theatre bar and another room
used for club promotions and film screenings. Walking between the
various spaces along busy corridors makes this an exciting clubbing
option. It’s an extremely popular nightclub and is loved by a
mixture of discerning city break travelers and trendy young locals.
In a converted building by the Charles Bridge is one of Prague’s
best loved super clubs called Karlovy Lazne. The club is built on 4
floors, with different music and activities represented on each
level. On the ground floor is the MCM Café, which hosts live jazz,
blues and reggae, floor 1 is pumping house and disco sounds, up on
the 2nd level is your typical discotheque great for pop anthems,
chart music and for Prague stag parties. Finally, for the hardcore
clubber that doesn’t mind punishing their ear drums is the techno &
drum n bass room. Karlovy Lazne claims to be the largest club in
Eastern Europe and presents so many great dancing options. If you’re
moving around in a large group like a stag weekend or having a
corporate knees up, then this huge club is a good place to come.
Beneath the Celnice restaurant is its on chic nightclub, which draws
an attractive clientele. The people there seemed to have stepped out
of a fashion magazine and surprisingly don’t have the pretentious
attitude that you’d imagine. Club 23 is located in the historical
centre, directly on the King's Way and tends to draw in a healthy
mix of locals and cruising city break night owls. There is a good
selection of drinks ranging from, Staropramen, Corona, excellent
cocktails and an extensive range of shooters. Good place to pop in
and get a cheeky drink, whilst on a big weekends night out in
Prague.

For some cheesy Friday night action, perfect for those Prague
stag nights of mayhem, then try Futurum. There’s live bands, 80s
disco music and plenty of happy go lucky punters. Futurum is popular
amongst stagweekends and hen parties, one for brilliant weekends.
Batalion is a Hard rock café venue offering everything from;
foosball and internet to crazy discos and live bands. If you’re
looking for somewhere to party hard and drink lots, then check this
place out. Its normally frequented at some point by a touring stag
do, but that only adds to the great entertainment. Fancy drinking
where Mick Jagger had his birthday bash? Alongside Wenceslav square
is Duplex, a massive chic nightclub, high up on the 6th & 7th floor,
offering amazing panoramic views over the city. This is a glamorous
place, with many bars and chillout areas and we can highly recommend
to our discerning short break guests to grace this night spot. If
you want to avoid the rush of the streets or the numerous wild stag
party’s roaming the town, then take the sky lift and enter one of
finest ‘Duplex’. Why not try something different and take the jazz
boat trip, leaving from pier No. 5 under the Cechuv Bridge. The boat
cruises through the historical centre, suburbs of the city, old
industrial areas and many hidden places of the night. While taking
in the amazing night panorama, you can relax for two hours listening
to a fine Jazz concert. If you want to miss those boisterous bargain
stag weekends, cruise on the boat under the dim light of the stars.
Klub Lavka night club is by the Charles Bridge and has a wonderful
riverside terrace and even has an open aired dancefloor. The place
is open 24 hours a day, there are go go dancers, drinks promotions
and discotheque that plays every party tune under the sun. It tends
to attract an up for it, cheesy crowd, like those on stag nights and
Praguepissups, but its worth having a boogie on the outside
dancefloor. Set beneath the city is La Fabrique. It’s a good party
venue, to meet people and boogie to chart topping beats. The crowd
is a mixture of Czech students, expats and the party hard stag dos.
Its not a pretentious place, attitudes are left at home and the
staff are profesional and efficient.
Another hip club is Karlovy Lazne and is a cool place to dance
your evening away. The music ranges through many genres of house,
techno and trance music, attracting a regular crowd that come to see
the big name Djs spin the turntables. Roxy is another huge space
that regularly attracts large crowds of locals, foreign party
animals and people celebrating their stag nights in Prague. They
throw many types of promotional events and the DJ line ups are
constantly on rotation. There are also live acts each week, crossing
many different genres of music, from bangra, rock ‘n’ roll, new wave
indie and electronica. It’s an awesome venue, with an equally
impressive atmosphere and we advise you to check the clubs program
to see what’s playing before you go. Punto Azul found on the on the
west bank of the Vltava River is the place to come for those fresh
‘urban beats.’ Breakbeat, deep house and hiphop music is well
represented in here and this nightclub will have you patting
yourself on the back, for a good find. For cool underground music on
a city break in Prague then why not work your way to Punto Azul.
Stonx night club in the Old Town is for people that want to get low
down and naughty to RnB and hiphop music. There is a massive
dancefloor, a couple of bars and a very frisky crowd that know how
to have a good old grind. Cross club has its own style and is very
much open for experimentation & representing the underground
clubbing scene. The Cross is near to the metro station Nadrazi
Holesovice, built in a house on the big traffic crossing. It’s a
club full of different rooms of size and character, where punters
will get to hear; reggae, drum n bass and techno. It’s not for the
glamorous or for the typical stagweekends, but it is for people that
love to hear new and none commercial music.
