Russian consulates and embassies require that you must first be
'invited' to visit Russia by a firm or travel agency.
The invitation (also known as: visa support, tourist confirmation
and tourist voucher) is a special document issued by ‘Vamos Travel’
that invites you to Russia. We process this letter of invitation
FREE of charge, as part of your holiday booking (as long as we have
received your deposit or final balance and booking form with
passport details).
The invitation is required by a Russian consulate to be able to
process your visa. For every type of visa, there exists a different
type of invitation (tourist, business, private, student). For
example, to apply for a tourist visa, you'll need a tourist
invitation (a tourist visa support).
Important to note: do not apply for a VISA without a letter of
invitation.

Russia Visa Requirements
Visas and passports are required by all visitors to Russia. There
are two popular types of Russian visas – ‘tourist visas’ & ‘business
visas’. In most cases a ‘tourist’ visa should be satisfactory -
unless you are planning to go to Russia for longer than 30 days. In
this case you should apply for a ‘business’ visa.
U.K. Citizens
Citizens of the United Kingdom need a valid passport to enter
Russia. To receiving a Russia Visa in the U.K contact:

You may wish to use a visa services company to take the time out
of queuing. Simply give them all the papers and a fee to do it for
you! You can find many of these companies in the Yellow Pages or on
the internet.
The Embassy in London can normally process visas in 15 working
days, and you can submit an application by post or in person. If you
want to get a visa more quickly it is possible to queue in person
and pay an extra fee, though the numbers processed in this way per
day are limited. You must have an exit visa to leave Russia. Most
entry visas include an exit visa. However, some entry visas i.e.
certain types of student visas, do not include an exit visa. If this
is the case your sponsor, not the Embassy or Consulates, will need
to obtain the exit visa for you before you can leave the country.
Ensure that you are aware of the terms and conditions attached to
your visa before travelling to Russia.
You must register your visa within three working days of arrival
in Russia with the local branch of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Most major hotels will do this automatically. You need not register
a visa if your visit is for under three days.
If your passport has less than six months to run, you may be
refused entry to Russia. You are advised to get a replacement
passport before travelling.
| Lost or Stolen Passport / VISA in Russia |
|
If you have the miss fortune to lose your passport + Russian VISA
you will need a new exit visa. First of all you must contact a local
police station and make a request for an official document
confirming that your visa was stolen. It is essential you obtain a
police certificate (spravka) for the loss. Exit VISA and new
passport cannot be processed without your application without a
spravka.
Contact whoever provided your letter of invitation (or the local
representatives).
You should then submit the relevant passport application form (C1
for adults, C2 for children under 16) along with two photographs
(one certified) and form LS01 (Lost or Stolen Passport Notification)
to the Consular Section. These application forms can be printed off
on-line from the British Embassy website.
When traveling internationally, carry your passport even if you
don't need one (it's always the best form of I.D.) and make two
photocopies of the data page (one for someone at home and another
for you, carried separately from your passport). If you lose your
passport, promptly call the nearest embassy or consulate and the
local police. |
