Macek is open till 3am and is a funky riverside café that attracts hi-rollers, chic-clubbers and trendy socialites. It can be occasional pretentious, but is definitely worth seeking out on your city break evenings. Certainly not recommended for the boisterous stag dos in Slovenia. For those in the know, Café Galerija is a very cool drinking hole. It’s more than often missed by short break visitors and never has Ljubljana stag weekends frequenting it. It’s a very trendy place to find, we highly recommend you search for it. Back on the main track, check out Zlata Ladjica, that buzzes all night with expats, stags, locals and many a student. For those on a pub crawl, pissup, crazy lads do, hen weekend etc, this is the place for you. Why? Well, Tenants Super is on draft. Enough said. In need of a late night bevy? Try Patrick's Irish Bar, one of the city's two Irish bars. Bachus is another vibrant place to try in during a weekend break. The atmosphere is always upbeat and busy, we think you’ll like it. Tiffany is one of the city's few out and out gay clubs. As such it's very popular with the city's gay community and quite open to visitors too.

Gallerija is a really cool club near Ljubljana’s town hall. It is designed in an ornate Turkish style and offers funky music and mad cocktails. They also sometimes have Cuban dancers who get the punters up dancing with them and trying the limbo. It is quite an exclusive place so please let us know if you are a sports tour or stag weekend in Slovenia and we can arrange a guest list for you. On the South American tip, then try Latino Klub Cuba, for Salsa, Latin and strong cocktails. Great for hen weekends in Ljubljana. For Jazz fans, there are two places to try, Jazz Club Gajo and Jazz Club Felix. The standard of the musicians is always high and as a result the atmosphere is relaxed and uplifting. A pub we can recommend is Mr Pub at Trubarjeva 7 (it's actually in a courtyard off the main road with 2 other bars so you might have to search for it). This place has a friendly atmosphere and plays decent music, and had a reasonable selection of Slovenian and imported beers and spirits. It has a laid back vibe and is not a commercial venue and definitely more suited for those who are hippy’s at heart. Quite opposite in its approach, but equally lovable is Cutty Sark. It’s like a British bar, with all the usual beer selections, spirits and even Guinness. It’s a very popular place amongst Slovenian students.

There are also plenty of trendy cocktail bars, such as Romeo’s and Salon. Both offer a good range of well-priced cocktails. The clientele in both is cool and trendy but this seems to be the case in most parts of the capital. The Italian designer shops mixed with some of the famous western brands plays a big part in the clothing culture. The likes of David Beckham would easily blend here. Stag do’s in Ljubljana are becoming more popular and even the trendy cocktail bars are extremely welcoming. If you prefer serious wine tasting then try bar Movia, which has an impressive selection of wines. It is a small bar with wooden interior. It is extremely relaxed and nice for couples on a romantic holiday.

Paintballing, quad biking and clay pigeon shooting are also popular for lad type do’s. Also, we highly recommend to try the go karting grand prix in Ljubljana. In summer we also arrange BBQ days where the stag party is taken to a picturesque riverside location where the guys can try their hand at fly-fishing for trout. The chef then cooks up a selection of fresh meat and fish for the group while the group enjoys a few cold beers and reminisces on the previous nights pissups.
