There are many fun things to do in Berlin. To make it easy for
our travelling clients, we have compiled this unbiased list of
recommendations. The Altes Museum was one of the first buildings in Europe to have
been constructed expressly as a museum. Here, the royal art
collections were exhibited publicly for the first time and became
accessible to all. The Altes Museum, houses some of the oldest and
artistically significant architectural works of Karl Friedrich
Schinkel. Art lovers shouldn’t miss this great museum, it’s a fine
place to enjoy on a European short break.
The Berlin Beer Festival on Karl-Marx Allee, takes place 6th-8th
August. One hundred stalls offer beers from around the world. It’s a
cracking event, filled with beer lovers from all over the world and
the usual Berlin stag do’s, seeing off there last nights of freedom
in a drunken heaven.
The Hi-Flyer flies 150m above the city and offers an alternative
view over the capital than the other popular viewing spots, like the
TV Tower and Reichstag dome. For great holiday snapshots and
panoramic views, buy a ticket for the Hi-Flyer.
July means its time for the Berlin ‘Love Parade’. A fantastic
procession of trucks and floats deliver the Love Parade’s message of
peace, love, respect and tolerance in the world, with up to 250

knows no boundaries and no nationalities’. The love parade is

Berlin with this crazy music festival.
The exotic flea market, Treptower Flomarkt on the banks of the
river Spree offers the best bargains every weekend from 10am-5pm.
With a bit of haggling, you can even get most items for less than
their extremely cheap asking price. This market is great for those
who love shopping, so we advise husbands to plan to do something
else, whilst the wife is busy hunting for little treasures.
Football fans will love the Olympic Stadium, which was originally
built in 1936 for the Olympic Games. The Hertha BSC football team
plays at the Olympic Stadium, competing boldly against the other top
German sides in the Bundesliga or 1st Division. It offers something
different to do on a short break away and is especially a great idea
for stag do’s and lads holidays. Interestingly, German football was
given a massive boost by the announcement that the country will
stage the 2006 World Cup. Book your flights early in time for the
2006 World cup.
The Berlin international film festival, the Berlinale, is not

Berlinale is truly a colossal event. It is also a festival of
encounters and discussions. With 150,000 tickets sold, the Berlinale
is not only a film industry meeting. It also enjoys by far the
largest audience of any film festival in the world. For two weeks,
art, glamour, parties and business meet at the Berlinale. Time your
stay in the capital during this event, it could be the ideal
birthday weekend treat.

The Brandenburg town of Krausnik, less than an hour from the
capital, is home to the largest tropical park in the world, with an
area of 66,000 m². Even the New York Statue of Liberty (93 metere)
could stand upright in it, and the Paris Eiffel Tower (322 meters)
could lie in it. The Dome offers enough space for the skyline of
Berlin's Potsdamer Platz including the Sony Centre, the Gatehouse
and the DaimlerChrysler skyscraper. This new development is a Berlin
stag weekend destination, theme park and congress centre all rolled
into one. In the evenings the Tropical Islands theme park will be

weekend or family holiday. If you’ve spent the best part of your day on your feet why not relax
