| The Best bars, nightclubs & Casinos in Moscow |
If you’re looking to conserve some energy for another day’s site
seeing, there are plenty of bars and traditional pubs to drink and
relax in. Top pubs in Moscow are often the Irish chain pubs you find
in most popular city break destinations, like Rosie O’Grady’s. This
pub has all the familiar beers on tap & Guinness and is loved for
its multiple rooms and friendly atmosphere. From here why not try
Chesterfield’s or the John Bull Pub, which are both excellent
drinking holes, with a nice mix of Russian locals and weekend
tourists. Sall O’Brians is another recommended authentic pub, but
like most pubs on the weekend, they do tend to attract the stag do’s
early on in the night. A busy British styled pub is the Albion and
as you’d imagine it’s a regular venue for expat gatherings and lads
seeing off their last nights of freedom. A small British pub near
Chistiye Prudy, which has football daily and live music on weekends
is the Bobby Dazzler. For the late night session and big drinkers,
then take note of the Big Pig Pub, which is open 24 hours. Good pub
food is served here and you’ll always see a good live act. Also for
big pissup sessions, try the large beer hall chain ‘Kruzhka’ where
the food and drink are cheap and they have plasma screens & sport.
As you’d figure, this is very popular amongst the English men &
those on Moscow stag weekends. Annushka is one of the most unique
bars, as it’s housed on a tram that loops around the picturesque
Chistyie Prudy area.

Amazonia is a Hawaiian themed thatched-roof bar, with fake trees,
waterfalls and live music. There is a dancefloor, cheesy DJ and they
serve good pub type food. Its an unpretentious place to party, great
for stag nights, hen parties, sport tours and usual noisy crowds. A
similar bar is Coconuts, a good place to enjoy cheap cocktails,
grilled food and enjoy a cheerful atmosphere. One of the best
cocktail bars is ‘Help’ and it’s the place for serious cocktail
lovers. They have every type of cocktail on its books and the staff
at Help are all highly trained and serve a mean cocktail. There is
always a fun atmosphere in this bar, expats, locals, city break
visitors love it. It’s certainly a great place to start your night
and even better if you can get there for happy hour. There are some
great Jazz clubs to enjoy, from experimental to traditional; you’ll
surely find something you’ll love. A classic venue is Le Club, with
its slick, upscale atmosphere that guarantees to be a high-end Jazz
option. Forte jazz club specialises in jazz rock and has regular
fusion nights. They invite local and overseas guests and a mixture
of jazz vibes can be enjoyed throughout the week. Sinyaya Ptitsa has
been established for over 40 years and embraces many styles of jazz
and good live music. The club has a comfortable feel, it is subtly
lit and appropriately decorated, creating the perfect musical
atmosphere. It’s a very popular jazz club and we recommend to our
city break clients to check it out. For blues and rocking ‘n’ roll,
then head to B.B.King, who have had a number of famous people grace
its stage, like Rod Stewart, Deep Purple and the master himself
B.B.King. Although, not just strictly a live music club, B2 hosts
some great live acts throughout the week. B2 is a huge night club
with four floors and offers a whole host of entertainments. It has
several dancefloors, a chill out room, a restaurant, pool rooms and
even a cinema room. This club is definitely a popular choice for
those visiting Moscow on a City break.
A cool hangout is Rotonda, a mix between a café-bar-club but it
also has film screenings, poetry readings and self improvement
nights. It’s a funny mix but a lot of fun and the disco is great
place to meet Moscow’s bohemians. If you’re looking for 24 hour
sport coverage, giant screens, pool tables and somewhere to eat to
supplement that stag weekend liquid diet, then find Sportland. This
is the city’s premier sports bar, under the Metelitsa casino on Novy
Arbat. There are a quite a few gentlemen’ clubs, some of the most
popular lap dancing clubs are; Erotic Club 911, Dolls, Oh la la and
spearmint Rhino. All of these establishments are comfortable and
well managed, full of beautiful scantily dressed girls that create
an exotic atmosphere. Advanced bookings for stag nights is always
advisable to avoid disappointment. RnB lovers can get their swing on
at many nightclubs in Moscow. Vinyl & Garage have urban nights on
Sundays, Souffle is best on Thursdays and Stone is great on Fridays.
Also, check-out Beefeater & Mio on Tuesday nights, for some hot pump
‘n’ grind parties. A Priori is one of the best after party clubs,
where hardcore clubbers come here for around 4am and party into the
early morning. It holds around 600 people and has 3 rooms, with
different DJs in each one. The dancefloors are always packed, the
atmosphere is electric and for people not wishing to go to bed, then
this will be the perfect place.
Large entertainment centres where you can eat, dance, drink and
play a variety of indoor sports are very popular. Two of the best to
try are Champion, which is open till 6am and Metelitsa, which is one
of the most established large venues in the capital. There are
casinos, restaurants, gaming facilities, discos and bars, enough to
keep you entertained on your weekend break. Students, stag night
partys & people on a travel budget, should try Park Avenue Disco,
where the drinks are cheap and the nights are wild. There are two
main dancefloors, strip shows and four bars. Penthouse No. 1 is the
exact opposite to Park Avenue, which is aiming at the more mature
crowd. The face control is tight and drinks are expensive, but once
inside, you’ll find a multi leveled night club, with a great
interior design, and fashionable people. Other alternatives for your
Moscow breaks should be, Zima or Leto, both attract a hi-class
crowd. Cabaret is yet another hotspot for the city's clubbing elite.
The door policy is extremely picky and only tends to let in the
wealthiest type of clubber. Although, the face control is undeniable
harsh, the atmosphere in the club is amazing. With packed out
dancefloors, filled with beautiful & friendly faces, dancing to main
stream house & chart music. A great place to start a night out or to
make local acquaintances is the Courvoisier club. The interior is
minimal and stylish, the music is soulful and the crowd is down to
earth and friendly. The club also has a 24 hour schedule, which
always worth remembering. Another club, running a similar overly
strict face control policy is Jet Set. Once the club has been
penetrated, guests will be in awe of the spectacular flair of the
decoration. The interior design is like no other club and is quite
impressive and makes for a great setting to drink and dance. Marica
is a multi functioning venue, fine-dining restaurant by day and
sultry club by night. This multi dimensional venue set in a
magnificent 18th-century mansion has a nice dining area upstairs and
below is the dance space.
A hot spot to check out is ‘Fabrique’, loved by locals, expats
and tourists alike for its good design and excellent DJ line ups.
Located in the basement of the gigantic Institute for Design and
Technology, it tends to attract a well dressed student & arty crowd.
The face control is less strict here than other places you might
experience, but its still worth dressing up to avoid disappointment.
In a city full to the brim with nightclubs, Fabrique is an excellent
choice venue for drinking and serious clubbing. Many visionary DJs
have already graced the decks at this club from Afrika Bambaataa &
Roger Sanchez to Felix da Housecat and many other super star names.
Garage is a small venue catering to the clubbing elite, where the
dress code is very particular, however play the westerner on holiday
card and you shouldn’t have trouble gaining access. A much bigger
venue to visit is Infiniti, that throws some of the best hiphop
nights in Moscow. The people are very well dressed, so expect a face
control policy. Also, drinks are not cheap, so those on a budget
break shouldn’t consider this nightclub. One of the most trendiest
night clubs is Propaganda. It regularly invites foreign DJs &
musicians to grace its club, playing a variety of modern music, from
RnB to Chicago house music. The interior comprises brick walls,
pipes under the ceiling and rough wooden tables and chairs, to give
it inevitably underground feel. The club is unpretentious and is
relatively cheap and offers a great atmosphere. Other places to
catch international Djs are Club XIII, famous for its promoters that
run Ibiza club nights and Roxy club that hosts disco parties, R&B,
house parties, striptease shows and international acts. The door
control can be strict for cheap stag do’s, so we advise making a
guest list, to avoid being turned away. One of the city's few
centrally located super-clubs is Voina i Mir, but is only suitable
for trance, house & techno lovers. Clubbing fans of electronica
music should look out for Zona, designed like an enormous prison,
even with staff dressed like prisoners. Look out for the Waterclub
aswell on a weekend party break in Moscow. This is a floating party
boat, with bars, dancefloors and a cracking sound system. Waterclub
is definitely a great summer nightclub to experience. There are
dozens of casinos, in fact Moscow alone has more casinos than the
whole of Europe. Some of the more elegant casinos are attached to
the five-star hotels. We can recommend; Casino Metropol, Olympic
Club, Casino Moskva and the Golden palace, as excellent venues to
try your luck.

“All went as planned, just have to say ‘I do’ now. Thanks for
all your input, I’ll be sure to blame your company if my girlfriend
finds out about my stag weekend antics.”
Regards, Olly Pritchard (Hornsey)
Moscow isn’t a major destination for stag nights, due to the high
cost of plane tickets and the added expense of Visa’s & invitation
letters. However, with those negatives cast aside, Moscow really is
a great place to come for a stagweekend, totally geared for either
small or large stag parties with a bigger budget. The Moscow
nightlife is vast and offers all the stag do necessities. There are
large entertainment centres, where you’ll find casinos, lap dancing
and discos under the same roof or for the more exclusive atmosphere,
there are many chic restaurant-clubs and cosmopolitan bars to be
found. Contact our team that knows the ‘real drill’ of what you need
from a stag weekend away.
