Get to know
me.......
Why do you think activity
holidays are worth trying?
Sightseeing beautiful places, doing something different and
especially something active, exploring your limits…that’s
what makes you feel alive!
What are your favourite
adventure activities to enjoy in Tolmin? And Why?
Tolmin has loads of activities to enjoy. In my opinion most
exciting are Canyoning, Hydrospeeding, Rafting and
Paragliding. These simply put the most of adrenaline out of
your body and make you realize that you can sweat also
because of fear
J.
Once you are over it, you feel really good.
On the
other hand, those not so “adrenaline addicted” will really
enjoy cycling and hiking because of beautiful scenery
around.
What are your typical job
roles? Any favourite parts?
I am a guide for most of activities and also lead groups who
come on activity holidays. Therefore I meet a lot of
different people going through different activities during
their stay. Mine favourite part is to observe their
expressions on their face or simply reactions going through
different stages of activity. Each one reacts different, but
on the other hand all quite similar.
Example
Canyoning: going down the slides

Best memory during your time
working in adventure holidays in Slovenia?
One just
came through my mind, so here is the short version. Every
year we have a swiss school on active holidays per one week
in Tolmin doing different activites. This kids mostly speak
just French, and my vocabulary in French constists of more
or less 2 words (bonjour, au revoir). And before each
activity we have a safety brief . Imagine me now explaining
to them all the safety brief before the activites in a
mixture of English, Italian, French, Slovenian and mostly
hand language. By the end of week, I was way better in
French and they were already speaking some Slovenian words
J
3 words (only) to describe
the Soca Valley & the Tolmin region?
Beautiful unspoiled nature
Slovenia is the only country
to have the ‘Love’ in its name, but why do you love
Slovenia?
Small
but sexy
J
The greatest debate of them all. What
is the best Slovenian beer. Lasko or Union?
He
he…usually I am not a picky one
J
But ok, rather Union.
What do you
like about Slovenian food? Any favourite dishes?
Meat and
potatoes in 1000 ways rules
J
Otherwise Slovenian food is a big mixture of all European
food, so you can get here almost every dish you can meet in
other European countries. If I would have to choose the best
dish, that would be traditional Slovenian dish “žlikrofi”,
but not without a nice piece of veal steak (telečja pečenka)
J
Any other remarks?
You should feel sLOVEnia too, so come and ejoy our holidays
