The drive along the fjord of
Eyjafjörður provides us with a splendid view of Akureyri, often
referred to as the Capital of the North. On our way to Goðafoss
waterfall we travel through the valley of Fnjóskadalur with its
lovely meandering river.
Towards noon we take a break for lunch in Reykjahlíð village.
After noon refreshments we proceed to Krafla mountain, past the
power station bearing the same name. This power project is
unusual in Iceland because it relies on geothermal steam energy
for its operation.
Our stop is at Víti ("Hell"), an explosive crater in the slopes
of Krafla. After visiting this volcanic location, we travel on
for a view of Hverarönd, with its sizzling and bubbling sulphur
mud pots. Grjótagjá is our next stop, where there used to be a
natural, geothermal bathing spot. The final stop in this scenic
district is at Dimmuborgir, Dark Castles, where towering lava
formations characterise the surrounding landscape. After a brief
rest stop in Reykjahlíð village we return to Akureyri in time
for travellers to catch the evening flight to Reykjavík.

Customer feedback:
Your pre-holiday service is something we have never experienced
before and now after returning back from Reykjavik, on behalf of the
group, we would like you to know, that we had the most wonderful
time. Travelling, staying, exploring and eating in Iceland has been
an absolute dream, everything and more, you told us it would be. I’m
so happy, we decide to have our annual family holiday in Iceland and
even happier that we were in Vamos Travel’s capable hands. Yours
sincerely,

Reviews:
What an amazing 3 days we had in Reykjavik, everything was
better than our expectations (which were very high). The flight
was short, the weather was mild, the tours that were organised
were brilliant and so were the Icelandic people. On the plane
home I found it hard to sink in how much we had seen and done
within such a short city break.
Iceland is a must see for any discerning traveller. This
is my 3rd trip to Iceland and has probably been my most
enjoyable. I was extremely well looked after, from the moment I
stepped off the plane, everything I had pre-arranged was
organised with the highest degree of efficiency. All your
personal recommendations for our holiday were excellent, from
the restaurants we dined in, to the tours we tried. Thank you
again, for creating such a pleasurable holiday. Warmest Regards,
