Day 1:
Arrival Overnight stay in Reykjavík

Day 2:
Reykjavík - Þingvellir - Gullfoss

From Reykjavik head to the Nesjavellir geothermal area and on to Lake Þingvallavatn, Iceland's largest lake, in Þingvellir National Park. Visit Gullfoss, the ‘golden waterfall', and the spouting hot springs of the Geyser area. Overnight in Flúðir area.

Day 3:
Þórsmörk

Spend the day in awe of nature in Þórsmörk nature reserve with its unique composition of glaciers, rocks and greenery. Visit the impressive Seljalandsfoss waterfall and walk up to the edge of the Eyjafjallajökull glacier. A day to remember! Overnight in Flúðir area.

Day 4:
Hella - Sprengisandur - Lake Mývatn

Across the wilderness of Sprengisandur, a wild, desolate land of breathtaking emptiness. Pass the largest continuous lava field in Iceland, Ódáðahraun, before descending into the greenness of the sheltered Bárðardalur valley. Overnight in Mývatn area.

Dettifoss - Ásbyrgi - Húsavík

Explore the beautiful Lake Mývatn area on the way to Dettifoss, Europe´s most powerful waterfall, which thunders down into the Jökulsárgljúfur canyon. Pass through Ásbyrgi, a beautiful horseshoe-shaped canyon, on the way to bustling Húsavík, for a whale spotting excursion. Overnight in Mývatn area.

Day 6:
Askja Caldera

Drive into the desert highlands of Dyngjufjöll mountains. The highlight of the tour is the Askja caldera. The magnificent Lake Askja, Iceland's deepest lake and the volcanic crater Víti which translates as Hell. Visiting Askja is an unforgettable experience emphasizing the greatness nature has to offer. Overnight in Mývatn area.

Day 7:
Vopnafjörður - Egilsstaðir - East Fjords

Head through the interior highlands to Vopnafjörður and explore this beautiful oasis on the border to the Arctic. Take a dip in the beautiful swimming pool on the banks of River Selá. Visit Burstafell farm before continuing over Hellisheiði mountain pass. Navigate the rugged and varied coastline of the East Fjords where towering mountains, bare rock faces ridged by the forces of weather and wind, plunge vertically into the sea. Overnight at Djúpivogur.

Day 8:
Djúpivogur - Skaftafell National Park - Kirkjubæjarklaustur

Stop to admire the striking vista from Almannaskarð pass encompassing the renowned Vatnajökull glacier and the majestic coastline. Head to Jökulsárlón Glacial Lagoon before continuing to Skaftafell National Park for a leisurely hike. Overnight in Kirkjubæjarklaustur area.

Day 9:
Laki Volcanic Craters

A full day tour from Kirkjubæjarklaustur to the area of Laki volcanic craters, famous for the eruption in 1783 when a giant lava flow formed the spectacular Eldhraun lava field. A unique experience. Overnight in Kirkjubæjarklaustur area.

Day 10:
Kirkjubæjarklaustur - Landmannalaugar - Reykjavík

Drive along the Fjallabaksleið interior track to Landmannalaugar, a magnificent area surrounded by colourful rhyolite mountains Recall the natural wonders of the previous few days during a relaxing soak in naturally heated pools, before returning to Reykjavík in the late afternoon.
